Does it seem to anyone else like as soon as there was some discussion and some limiting of the "stumble this" and "digg me" threads that they were largely replaced by threads notifying us all of every new post? I know that from time to time someone is going to have a post that's relevant to our common interests and mention it, or even just because it's of great personal significance but...um...we're a blogging community. Seems to me that if everyone makes a general announcement every time they post, it's going to rapidly flush out any real discussion. Anyone else feel like this is getting a little out of control?

What I have seen lately as far as getting a bit out of control have been heated discussions. Who has more visitors than someone else, etc. . For example.
As far as Stumble or Digg, I never really got the hang of it and wondered what the fuss was truly about. It seems like it was a waste of time. We could have been talking about genuinely interesting things.
I think I kinda got pissed off when we were asked if there were any Christians out here. The avatar was generic and the next day it is an avatar of a depiction of Jesus. I found it hard to relate to someone using Jesus' picture as a personal avatar. I found it making me become sarcastic?having to defend my Christianity and Catholicisim in particular. Why not simply assume the majority is Christian and ask whatever it is you wish to discuss. A real topic of conversation instead of identification.
I am truly not attacking my fellow blogger. I simply believe a community approach of discussion is to err on the side of common sense.

After reading a bunch of Stumble me or let me Stumble you, etc. type posts, my eyes tend to glaze over. I think we're being taken over by a lot of newer bloggers looking to get their foot in the door without building the house first. That's my impression.
